Pay your vendors faster with the fast check option. Fast checks are sent in 3 business days via FedEx instead of USPS’s regular delivery time of 5 to 7 business days.

For more information about our payment delivery timelines, please see the following guide.

This guide includes the following sections:

How can I make a fast check payment?

You can make a fast check payment when paying with your bank account, Capital One Business card, or another debit card.

You’ll have the option to make a fast check delivery when selecting your payment delivery date.

1 - Sign in to Accounts Payable.

2 - Select + New Payment. This button will always be at the top right of the Pay dashboard.

Alternatively, to pay a bill you've already added: go to the Bills tab, find the bill in your list, and select Pay next to it. This takes you to the same Pay page described below.

3 - On the Pay screen, enter all the necessary details until you reach the What your vendor receives section.

4 - On the Pay page, make sure the delivery method is set to Paper check

Please note:

  • If you have a different delivery method selected, you can change it to the paper check using the drop-down list.

  • If you don’t see this option or need to change the delivery details, select Manage delivery methods to add or edit your paper check details.

5 - When selecting a date for your payment to be debited, make sure to select the 3 business days delivery speed for a fast check. If you don’t see this option, it’s unavailable for this payment.

The fees shown in the screenshots are for illustrative purposes only. For the specific fees associated with your transactions, please refer to the payment summary within your Accounts Payable before confirming any payment.

6 - Add a memo. It appears on the check and in the payment notification that the vendor will receive. This will help the vendor understand the purpose of the payment.

7 - Next, review the payment summary

8 - After review, select Confirm and pay.

That’s it! We will send you an email with the payment details. You can also notify your vendor that their payment is on the way.

Why can’t I see the fast check option?

There can be a number of reasons why the fast check option is not available for your payment:

  • Your legal details are missing.
  • It’s a recurring payment.
  • The check address is a PO Box.
  • Fast check delivery is unavailable for a specific payment.
