Before making payments, you'll need to link a bank account (or as many as you’d like). This takes 1-2 minutes, and you only need to do it once.

How to add your bank account

There are 2 ways to add a bank account automatically:

Add your bank account when making a payment

The simplest way to connect your bank account is when you make your first payment.

1 - In Accounts Payable, select + New payment. Follow this article for all the ways to add a bill.

2 - Or select a bill to pay.

3 - Choose Pay with a bank account when asked how you want to pay.

A bank account linking window will appear. This process is securely handled by Plaid.

Why Plaid?

Plaid creates a secure connection between your bank and Accounts Payable. It uses encrypted, protected tokens to shield your actual account information while allowing Accounts Payable to access only the necessary data for payments.

4 - Enter your phone number and select Continue. This allows you to receive SMS about your bank account verification status. Alternatively, you can continue without a phone number.

Choose an Account Linking Method

You have two options for linking your bank account: Instant Linking (Recommended) or Link through micro-deposits.

Option 1: Instant Verification (Recommended)

Instant verification is the fastest and most secure way to link your account, allowing you to complete your payment right away.

1 - In the Plaid pop-up window, select the Instant (Recommended) option, then select Continue

2 - Select your bank from the list.

3 - Log in to your internet banking through the secure pop-up and follow the prompts.

4 - After you see the Success message, Plaid offers you to save the bank account within their system. If you wish to do it, enter your phone number and select Save. or you can finish without saving.

5 - That’s it, you successfully connected your bank account. Select Done to continue with the payment as usual.

If your bank isn't listed, or if you prefer not to log in, you must use the micro-deposit method.

Option 2: Micro-Deposit Verification

The micro-deposit method is a manual process that typically takes 1-2 business days to verify, as you must wait for a small deposit to arrive in your bank account before completing the verification.

For a detailed guide, please see the article: Verifying a bank account with micro-deposits.

Important:

Accounts Payable is powered by our partner Melio. Make sure to allow Melio to debit your account by adding it to your bank account’s allowlist as an authorized debtor.
