How do I verify my tax ID number?
Accounts Payable will already have your tax ID number that’s registered to your Capital One Business account.
When making your first payment, we’ll ask you to verify the number and choose the tax ID type - you’ll only need to do this once.
1 - Start by making your first payment in Accounts Payable.
2 - As the final step, you’ll see the One last thing screen.
3 - Select your tax ID type: EIN, SSN, or ITIN. (Read more about tax ID types below).
4 - Verify that the last 4 digits of your tax ID number are correct.
5 - Select Verify and finish to complete your first payment.
The 3 types of tax ID numbers
Most small business owners have one or more of the following tax ID types:
- Employer identification number (EIN)
- Social Security number (SSN)
- Individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN)
The numbers you have will mostly depend on your immigration status.
